Glenn Woods is Glenn's first exclusive skin. He is armed with a knife, and dressed in a black T-shirt underneath a tactical vest with pouches, green camo pants, tan gloves, and a brown and red baseball cap with a tactical headset. After getting back up, his face, arms, vest, gloves, and pants will be covered in his blood.
Patrolman Glenn is Glenn's second exclusive skin. He is armed with a nightstick, and dressed in a policeman's uniform with a police badge, black pants, a brown belt with a yellow buckle, and a black police cap with a white emblem. After getting back up, his face, arms, uniform, pants, and nightstick will be covered in his blood.
Glenn Pines is Glenn's third exclusive skin. He is armed with a knife, and dressed in a black vest, a red T-shirt, black shorts, gray socks, black shoes, and a blue and white baseball cap. After getting back up, his face, the side of his head, arms, shirt, and pants will be covered in his blood.
He can be unlocked for 700 coins after reaching player level 6.
Functionality
Glenn is a Fighter. He has average stats for his class, with the exception of moderately high courage cost. Glenn's attack speed is swift, and his crits are landed as fast as his regular swings.
When killed for the first time, Glenn will revive on his own after 12 seconds with 90% of his max health and a brief 0.5 seconds of invulnerability. Glenn's change in appearance and animations upon revival are purely aesthetic. In Skirmish and Supply Runs he raises immediately after getting knocked out.
Revival removes poison if Glenn was affected by it before death. The same is true for fire damage as long as he wasn't killed by it. If Glenn has the inspiration buff, he will always revive with it, and has a chance of receiving it on revival too. Fury buffs are lost when he is knocked out, but he can regain it if the item was still in effect.
Some time after dying, he turns into a Tipsy.
Perks and Abilities
Glenn's special ability grants him a second revive. This ability vastly extends Glenn's presence on the battlefield, helping with his role as a pressure applier, and increasing his overall damage output to single targets. While that helps to justify Glenn's courage cost, he still retains his other general problems.
Gameplay
Main Campaign
Thanks to his higher base damage and attack speed than most fighters, Glenn functions as an efficient burst unit who also doesn't struggles against some hordes of zombies. His revival perk also makes him a valid option against poisonous enemies, as long as he receives some extra support. Unfortunately, Glenn is far from an all-around good unit, as he is simply too expensive, making it difficult to take advantage of associated team powers without using Generator.
His perk can negate poison upon knockout, meaning he wouldn't need to worry about its damage over time effect once there are no more poison enemies to fight. He will also negate any fire damage, provided if he isn't reduced to ashes or torched while knocked out by stray fire pools produced by Turret/Generator/Red Barrel/Molotov. An Energy Sphere will prevent him from reviving completely. Additionally, he is vulnerable when getting up.
Skirmish
In League, Glenn by himself generally not a strong choice due to his lack of bullet resistance. His only ability doesn't increase his survivability all that much due to the perk taking effect immediately in PvP – Glenn is largely vulnerable during his revive animation, often resulting in him getting killed again, usually by the same unit who took him down the first time or from crossfire from enemy ranged units.
Should Glenn be used in Skirmish, it's best to pair him with his associated Team Powers. His revival perk makes great use out of 3/3 Military team power which is one of the most cheesiest but highly effective strats to do. He’s also able to take great advantage of Military 5/5, as he can approach and get the first hit in. Not to mention that Glenn regains the effect of Military 5/5 when he revives, allowing him to effectively pull off surprise ambushes after the initial chaos subsides. And in Police, the shield he gets from Police 3/3 allows him to become an even more effective meatshield, while being able to activate the Fury buff every time he loses all of his health.
While his only perk becomes questionable in terms of viability, it does gives Glenn potential in meat shielding as he virtually has a higher total health pool. This potential is further improved with his special ability unlocked. He is able to tank things like Mechanic's additional damage and still fight on. Thanks to the immediate effects of his perk in Skirmish, Glenn's corpse cannot be burned off the ground by fire pools if he can still revive, although he will likely take fire damage if he does. His courage cost could be an issue given that he costs the second most out of all units in his class when the courage could be spent on a ranged unit or a cheaper fighter who'd give similar results.
Item Sets
Thanks to his fast attack speed, Glenn is capable of benefiting from just about any set that boosts damage, with Gentleman proving to be the best option as usual. During mid-to-late-game, he can also find great success with Lucky Guy, since it accentuates his role as a meat shield by allowing him to survive even more lethal strikes. It's also the best option for Glenn when he is used as a member of Military, but can work with Police teams as well to reapply the Fury buff for units spawned after him.
Glenn is one of the few units for whom agility watches are strictly better than prep. time, since he already has a very short preparation time. He can find use from all sorts of books (aside from +% ranged, for obvious reasons) but the choice depends on his team and item set. If he is a member of Military, then +% health allows for him to be an even better meat shield. Same can also be said for melee-oriented tactics in Police 3/3 teams. If he is in Northerners then +% crit. damage allows him to properly benefit from the respective powers, and land massive bursts. In all other teams, +% melee is an acceptable option, unless you use Gentleman set, which requires a +% crit. chance book instead.
Skins and Synergies

In all of the above teams, Glenn is rarely a bad option, and gets to easily abuse their powers.
In the Military team, Glenn doesn't work all that well with the 2/2. However, benefits the most from the 5/5, and can work well with the 3/3 too, as it increases their chances of spawning an additional Specops when he is slain.
In the Police team, Glenn does not benefit from the 2/2, and the SP from the 3/3 often doesn't matter much. The 5/5 power however is much more impactful, as he can repeatedly activate it to provide a massive damage boost for all other units, or even just new copies of him.
In the Northerners team, Glenn benefits from being the only melee unit with fast attack speed and a regular crit attack, increasing his burst damage potential even further for the 2/2 and 3/3. The 5/5 power is largely inefficient and doesn't aid him, though as it is he doesn't need it to deliver maximum impact.
Trivia
- Glenn's deleted backstory was a reference to comic book series Kick-Ass. Similarly, to the protagonist David Lizewski, Glenn suffered a great deal of physical trauma that resulted in him having metal surgically implanted to his body to further protect him.
- Glenn is a direct reference to the character of the same name from the comic book and TV series The Walking Dead. Glenn's description and ability to revive after supposedly being killed references (and jabs at) the absurd number of times The Walking Dead's Glenn seemingly cheated death in both the comics and show.
- His flavor text even plays into this, being "he was always hard to kill.".
- The Glenn Pines skin is reference to Dipper Pines from Gravity Falls.
- The name Glenn Woods is a reference to Frank Woods from the Call of Duty series, who is a part of the U.S. Military as well.
