Drone is a large quadcopter wrapped with blue wiring carrying a yellow alarm device and a green box.

Functionality

Basics

The Drone is a support item, meaning it can be used to support units on the field with direct control by players over where it is placed. It requires rage to be deployed.

The Drone is a disposable item, meaning it will be disappeared after its destruction. It has good explosion damage and moderate preparation time. However, it has a huge rage cost.

Perks and abilities

The Drone is sent from outside of the bus, able to be put almost anywhere the player chooses by being placed directly on the battlefield.

The Drone will lure zombies toward itself in a range of 120 units upon reaching its desired location. It can draw them away from the bus/units, but usually only works for zombies that are ahead of it. After staying there for 3 seconds, the Drone slams to the ground, dealing explosive damage in a small area. Naturally, intelligent enemies, namely Marauders, will ignore the drone entirely. Drones will also fly out upon the death of a scientist due to the 3/3 Scientist team power and explode on where the scientist was killed without luring enemies.

Gameplay

Main Campaign

The Drone is a relatively versatile support item, able to be used offensively and supportively. It can lure a large horde of zombies away from important units and possibly killing, or heavily damaging them. With correct timing, the drone can also be used to lure a group of running-type zombies, giving units enough time to dispatch the group should they be weakened by the drone's explosion.

Despite its versatility and rarity, the Drone is rather mediocre overall due to its inadequate overall damage output when compared to its preparation time and huge rage cost. And since it only has damage to offer, the Drone's performance quickly diminishes.
