Vehicles
Vehicles are one of the key elements of Dead Ahead, as they are used to ride away from the zombie horde.
Gameplay
Vehicles are controlled by sliding a finger up and down over the touchscreen or pressing the corresponding buttons on the right side of it. To increase speed it's required to hold a double arrow button in the left corner of the screen. Simply tapping it also gives a small boost.
Each vehicle has three characteristics in range from 1 to 10 which determine their efficiency:
- Speed determines the maximum achievable velocity. 1 bar equals for 10 km/h, with lowest max. speed being 50, and max – 140;
- Mass determines how big the loss of speed on impact is. The bigger it is, the more speed the player keeps. However, maxed out mass doesn't prevents losses completely;
- Controls determines how fast the vehicle moves up and down.
Characteristics of each vehicle can be improved via individual upgrades, which cost some coins. A total of two upgrades can be made, each giving a vehicle a new status: from regular, to "advanced", to "super".
Each vehicle can be repainted – player can change three colors: of the vehicle itself, the helmet, and a large stripe on it.
