Crazy is an infected, insane marauder armed with a shovel and dressed in torn black pants, a black and white cap with a blue logo, and a brown waist pack. He is shirtless, sports a short gray beard, and displays signs of mental instability, likely due to prolonged infection exposure.

Overview

Crazy is a marauder who uniquely follows the logic of runner-type zombies. He runs in a straight line towards the bus, and can't deliberately target any opponents. He will walk through fire pools, and attack any support items that are standing in his way. Additionally, he is immune to fear.

Immediately after being killed, he turns into a Fast Zombie.

Strategy

Since Crazy behaves similar to runner zombies, strategies that apply against them will also work on this marauder. The only difference is that he technically has more health than an average mid-game runner, therefore it might be necessary to use more than one fighter against him. Mechanic can alleviate that issue thanks to the massive damage of his sledgehammer, especially to kill the Fast Zombie Crazy turns into.

During the Corn Farm event, Crazy is always the first enemy to enter the battlefield in the event so it might be good to bring a somewhat cheap unit so they can be dealt with quickly or, in worst cases, act as cannon fodder.

Putting Red Barrel in Crazy's path is an effective strategy too. It will easily stall him, and the resulting explosion will usually burn him, ultimately preventing Crazy from turning.

Notes

  • Internally, Crazy uses the same AI as the majority of zombies, which is why he behaves the way he does. This creates the side effects such as being drawn to Drone's lure, not reacting to units with the silence perk (Silent.png) when idle at the start of missions, and be unable to say any quotes.

Trivia

  • Prior to update 4.0.0, Crazy was the only marauder who didn't appear in any of regular missions. He was only present in some events and supply runs.
