Biker
Biker is an infected marauder motorcyclist armed with an AK-47 and dressed in a black leather jacket, gray shirt, black pants, kneepads, and a red and blue full-face motorcycle helmet with the visor up.
Overview
Biker is the marauder counterpart of shooter units.
He fires his rifle in 3-round bursts up to five times before performing a relatively quick reload.
Biker possesses very high resistance to melee damage, alongside slight resistance to knockback. Additionally, he is immune to fire damage and can walk through fire pools.
As a human, he is able to move towards closest detected enemies and is susceptible to fear. He will attack Generator and Turret when he is near them, but will ignore any other stationary items. Some time after dying, he turns into a Tipsy.
Strategy
Biker may look unassuming due to his insignificant stats, but he has fire immunity and his gun boasts high fire rate, making him quite a threat as he can quickly destroy any weak units that lack bullet resistance in seconds. In addition, Biker also possesses very high melee resistance, and since he is likely to stand behind other marauders, he can possibly survive a few hits from fast melee units that happen to approach him.
Despite this, ways of fighting him are still not too different from that of dealing with other marauders who use ranged weapons. Builder and any other bullet-resistant units can still efficiently deal with Bikers and any other marauders even though he has a high rate of fire. Although Biker does possess very high melee resistance, it is hardly a hinderance due to his meager health, and most bullet-resistant units can swiftly kill him thanks to their good damage. However, Empty Barrel is not as effective, but Red Barrel remains highly effective as its explosion can usually kill Biker immediately. Biker is also still vulnerable to sources of ranged damage, making the use of ranged units, preferably with spread damage, recommended to not only deal with him, but also support melee units. Policeman Diaz is the best choice thanks to his high health, melee resistance, and good damage output. Farmer/Lester are also a good choice as they prepare fast, although they may be vulnerable to the other threats due to their lacking health.
As a human enemy, he will ignore any barrels and nitrogen tanks dropped in his way and move to face the closest target, while his fire resistance allows him to walk straight through them without taking damage, as well as preventing his corpse from being burned. He will shoot Generator and Turret with his ranged weapon at a distance and use a weak melee attack when placed directly on him.
Bugs
- Currently, Biker's ranged attacks do not scale with his level.
Trivia
- Biker's old journal entry indicated that he wears a bulletproof helmet, even though he did not have bullet resistance whatsoever.
- It's been stated in a QnA session that despite both being motorcyclists, Biker and the male protagonist of Dead Ahead are unrelated. [1]
