Smoker is an infected dressed in black pants. He's missing his entire jaw, exposing his neck. He has glowing blue eyes and emanates floating blue particles around his body.

Overview

Smoker was a ranged attacker, who behaved similar to Spiderlimb.

After walking past the barricade, the Smoker would randomly yet frequently spit out blue glowing bone shards. This attack functioned similar to shotgun shots, firing three spread-out "pellets", each at its own angle.

Smoker originally existed in the Quarantine version of the game but was removed in the final release. However, his Zombiepedia entry still exists, albeit remaining inaccessible in-game.

This zombie was first encounterable in a mission that was previously labelled by number 56[1].

Trivia

  • According to the developers, Smoker was removed from the game because they thought he was "not very unique." However, it's still unknown why his Zombiepedia page hasn't been removed or repurposed yet.
  • Smoker's internal stats have been multiplied by 10 in the 4.0.0 update, despite the zombie still not being reintroduced into the game. For the sake of historical accuracy, this change is not reflected on the wiki.
  • Smoker was the only zombie to have the ranged attack icon instead of the melee icon in the Zombiepedia.
  • Unlike some other enemies in the final game, the small blue particles that float around him are part of his animations instead of being a separated particle effect.
    • When the new blue particle effect was added, it was given to the Smoker. Now, Smoker currently has two sets of visible particles, one that is a part of his regular animation and the other a separate particle effect.
  • Unlike other projectiles in the game, its bone projectiles are still are able to cast shadows.
