Naked is an infected marauder armed with a machete and dressed in black pants, a black cap, and a dog tag. He is shirtless and, while most of his body appears pale, his hands and parts of his face are green, displaying physical signs of prolonged infection exposure.

Overview

Naked is the marauder counterpart of fighter units.

As a human, he is able to move towards closest detected enemies, is susceptible to fear, and can navigate around fire pools. He will attack Generator and Turret when he is near them, but will ignore any other stationary items. Some time after dying, he turns into a Zombie.

Strategy

As Naked isn't a difficult enemy to fight, the best option against him is to use fast melee units so that they can hold him up and potentially defeat him. Since Empty Barrel and Red Barrel cannot stall Naked from moving towards the bus, they should be used to heavily damage or kill him instead. Red Barrel can be used to not only kill Naked but also destroy his corpse with the fire pool created from its detonation. Using ranged units can help to support melee units in fighting him off when appearing in small waves as well as other marauders.

Trivia

  • Naked shares an in-file name with both Redneck and Zombie, all of them are referred to as "Naked."
  • Although Naked is formally introduced in Location 3, Mission 1, he first appears in the cutscene of Location 1, Mission 13, where he is killed by Paramedic in a cutscene.
  • Naked is the only unit in general, playable or enemy, who appears in multiple cutscenes. As he appears during the events of both Location 1 Mission 13, and Location 3 Mission 32.
    • Also notably, is that he dies both of his cutscenes. In Location 1, gets killed by the Paramedic trying to take its defibrillator. And in Location 3, he’s thrown into a wall and killed by Soldier.
  • Naked has some cutscene specific animations that aren't visible because he was put on the wrong layer, these are a walk cycle and turning animation.
    • His turning animation is the only instance of such an animation existing in the game.
