EMT is an infected armed with a pair of malfunctioning defibrillators and dressed in a red paramedic uniform with yellow reflective strips and white gloves. She carries a blue defibrillator bag that connects to the paddles wrapped around her body. She has glowing blue pupils and her skin appears charred.

Overview

EMT is a special zombie. She is unable to attack normally, instead relying on her ability that is similar to Paramedic's.

Three seconds after she spawns, EMT will become charged up. If she gets struck with a melee, fire, or explosive attack while in this state, she exits the state, and creates a lightning bolt that deals fire damage to all other nearby entities (without applying afterburn).

Unlike Paramedic, EMT doesn't get any resistances from her electric charge. Additionally, she won't discharge herself after some time.

Strategy

Given her similarities to Paramedic, dealing with them are quite similar but her meager stats makes her a fairly easy threat to take care of. Firefighter is a good direct counter thanks to his natural fire resistance. Using Empty Barrel or Red Barrel is good for triggering her lightning strike early before sending a melee unit to safely finish her off, though her low health means she is likely to be swiftly dealt with using either rage abilities alone since she isn't invulnerable to a melee hit while charged. Unlike Paramedic, EMT is not immune to bullets while charged either, making ranged units an easy choice for safely eliminating her from a distance.

Trivia

  • EMT, and Paramedic are the only enemies to face left in the Zombiepedia.
  • Similarly to her human counterpart, EMT's blue defibrillator bag used to include a symbol of a red cross on a white background. This makes it resemble the International Red Cross emblem, thus being in violation of the Geneva Conventions as it is a symbol protected under its treaties. This would be fixed in update 4.0.3, using a reversed coloration.
  • For a long period of time, EMT wasn't present in any of regular missions, with Paramedic Nancy's death being the main method to encounter this zombie, aside from Infected Metro. This changed in the update 4.1.4, with the introduction of location 9.
