Special abilities are an unlockable skill for units (and their respective skins) once they have been upgraded to level 13.

The cost of unlocking a special ability is always 10,000 coins. When a unit has their special ability unlocked, it will permanently affect their gameplay and cannot be removed or deactivated.

Support items such as Red Barrel, Nitrogen, and Generator do not have special abilities to unlock once they have been upgraded to level 13.

Perks and special abilities, while similar, are separately distinct from each other. While special abilities are only unlocked after a unit has been upgraded to level 13, perks are tied to a unit from the beginning.

Note: All special abilities are listed in order of appearance within a unit collection containing every acquirable in-game unit.
