Set Bonus
This set rewards its wearer with shield points equal to 20% of their health whenever they kill an enemy. Any provided SP will last for 2 seconds, or until depletion. If they currently have shield points from other, different sources, or kill an enemy without using their normal attacks, (Queen/Grenadier/Lionheart) the bonus does not occur.
Analysis
While a 20% shield may seem weak, they can allow a unit to dismiss one otherwise dangerous attack every time they score a kill. This can be even theoretically used against Insectoids, as most units will usually gain more than 10 SP.
Regardless of shields' durability, Scout is one of the few sets that borders on a "winmore" status, since it feeds on kills, and when the unit doesn't, it falls apart. In many cases, it may be better to forgo it in favor of another damage-focused set.
In Skirmish, Scout is much more viable. Since damage tanking alone can win games in that mode, Scout becomes a solid option for units who are able to naturally dish out big damage, while also valuing whatever defense they can get. This set especially shines on Carol, whose dash attack isn't too difficult to buff, and she can easily farm shields there by ping-ponging from one opponent to another.
