Escapee

Escapee is a female zombie with bloodied gray hair, a black crop-top, and an orange prison jumpsuit, who's top half has been torn to shreds, leaving loose threading at the waistline. Her hands and forearms, along with a section of her side, have turned blue. Upon transforming to her second phase, she will lose her hair and her skin will become entirely blue aside from the top of her head, which turns gray.
Overview
Escapee is a runner-type late-game enemy. Upon death, she immediately "resurrects" in her second form that has full immunity to fire damage, as well as high bullet resistance. If Escapee's first phase was destroyed with fire damage, she will die without transforming.
Escapee takes 0.5 seconds to transform. She is completely invulnerable during this period, and her hitbox will absorb all projectiles that reach it. However, it will still be possible to stun her. Once her transformation finishes, Escapee emits a small PSI wave that pushes units back, always ensuring that they stay a set distance away from her. Because of this, depending on how close a unit got to Escapee, they will get pushed back at varying speeds. The shockwave can only hit units in front of Escapee.
In her second phase, whenever Escapee attacks, she always does two punches that can't be interrupted.
Strategy
Most of the struggle of fighting Escapee comes from her second phase which makes her much harder to kill, with only melee and true damage being capable of reliably harming her. In most cases, it's easier to just fallback on shooters and shotgunners with the Tactical set equipped, even if its limitations will make your units slightly weaker against other threats of the mission. The latter class proves especially useful thanks to their faster preparation time, however, their shots might get wasted by Escapee's brief phase of true invincibility, making them vulnerable to her second phase once she finally transforms. If this proves to be a constant problem then using shooters together with the energy drink buff is a better idea, especially since their focus fire might force Escapee to transform before she gets dangerously close.
Using heavyweight units can prove to be useful in some missions, as they can't be knocked back meanwhile being able to push Escapee herself. A max level Cashier with his special ability unlocked is perhaps the best counter to Escapees, as he can cleave through both of her phases thanks to his high damaging crits. Rogue and Jailer are also acceptable, since they are available year-round and can stun her. Dr. Norman is another potential counter, as he deals true damage and slows Escapee down. His partial knockback resistance can also come in a clutch. However, his movement speed leaves much to be desired.
Using fire proves to be a good option, since if Escapee gets charred in her first phase, she won't transform into her actual threatening form. Flamethrower acts as the most reliable unit for this tactic, especially if his special ability is unlocked as it allows him to damage Escapee in her second phase, should something go wrong and she will get to transform anyway. Red Barrel and Molotov Cocktail serve as accessible alternatives. However, it's worth mentioning that MC is only truly reliable if it's buffed by Patriots's synergies.

- There is an unused animation of Maria turning into Escapee.
- Internally, Escapee is called "Girl Prisoner". Interestingly, the name "Escapee" is also used on a code level but to refer to Maria instead.
